So the truck reached 20,000 miles after coming back from the parent's house on Mother's Day. Of course most of the miles had been put on the week prior because we were on vacation in Daytona Beach. Well the real reason we were down there was for the graduation and commissioning ceremonies of
Hakeber's cousin. Since commencement exercises were to be held on Monday we decided to make a week of it down in Florida. Now I must say this up front. We are not beach people. If given a choice between the mountains and the beach we will usually pick the mountains. So we stayed for the whole week and didn't once actually make it out on to the beach or even touch the ocean. We have nothing against beaches mind you, and a majority of our vacations happen at beaches.
Another highlight of the trip was going to Epcot Center. Now this year I had a mission in going there. I was going to attempt the World Showcase Beer Crawl. Starting in Mexico and then ending in Canada I was going to enjoy a beer in every country. I started around 11:30am and ended around 8:15pm. Now it wasn't a record setting pace in any sense because we still wanted to enjoy our time there and check out all the cheesy attractions. Among these attractions was Nelson. That's right, Nelson. Well more like this now. The played a lot of their dad's hits for a older crowd. Among the band members was also the drummer to Candlebox. I guess you take any gig at some point in your career. Although I am sure playing three sets a day for a week at Epcot might actually get you some nice sized cash.
Overall a good trip and I got to play some disc golf at the local parks in Daytona Beach area. I would go back for the disc golf, but not the beaches.
