Disc Golf + Serenity
Thought it was an interesting mash-up of the theme from Serenity and some disc golf footage for an apparel site. Enjoy!

Went out last night and bought my Aunt a new computer. Now she did say that she will pay me back for it. She trusted me to pick out something for her that wasn't too expensive and still had a lot of features. I think we emailed each other 10 times about different post-Christmas deals. Finally settled on an eMachine T3516 which included a 15" flat screen CRT monitor and a Canon printer for $360 (plus tax). There was a better deal at CompUSA for another eMachine but it had a slower processor.
Now I just have to wait until my Aunt "cleans" up her apartment for me to come over and set it up for her. Probably won't happen until next weekend or so.
...and to all a good night!
Washed both vehicles this morning.
Played 27 holes of disc golf in the wonderful weather were are having.
Beat Drew for both 18-hole and 9-hole sets (something I haven't done since I introduced him to the sport).
Rake the front yard with the wife.
Listening to some Acid Jazz and drinking Jack on the rocks.
About to throw two New Your Strips steaks on the grill for dinner.
Just an overall good day...
Richard Marx Greatest Hits for $4 at Tower Records was a steal of a deal!
Man raises money on his own for disc golf project
WINDER — A disc golf enthusiast is raising funds to build an 18-hole disc golf course in Victor Lord Park. Without county funding, Chuck Smith has secured enough donations to complete 10 holes since breaking ground Oct. 30. The course opened Friday for the first night play. Four players showed up in mid-20 degree weather to be new course’s first night players. It will open again from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, with night play resuming after the first of the year. “The county has allowed us access, but we rely on community involvement to pay for it,” Smith said. Smith estimates he is saving the park about $20,000 by recruiting sponsors to donate funds and volunteers to do the physical construction work. Each hole costs $500, which includes the equipment, tee sign and a park bench. The name of the business or individual supplying the cash will appear on the tee sign for the life of the sign.
Quite an accomplishment I must say. Not only did disc golf get the front page on the Gwinnett Daily News, but Chuck Smith got a disc golf park in ground without any county funds. Now I know that Chuck has angered a lot of the old disc golfers in the Atlanta area and really that has a lot do with his attitude. I met Chuck at a tourney this fall and could tell what kind of guy he was right away. Someone who takes the bull by the horns and doesn't let go.
Honestly we need that sort of man in this sport to help it move along. I guess his methods by which he goes about doing things is questionable. I particularly don't care to look at Tee Signs on a course that have sponsorship by big businesses. And getting a tournament disc that was a giant ad for Tires Plus wasn't all too thrilling either. Beer sponsorships I would be fine with (nudge, nudge Sweetwater).
I guess in the end I have two things to say about this article. Chuck did a good job getting a new course in the ground in a really short amount time that will help Victor Lord Park be more popular and most amateur players can't throw 400 feet.
I haven't been to a APWBWGTTD meetup since September, and I won't be able to go this month due to a prior commitment.
What is more sad....
Most people didn't notice the last meetup never occurred.

There it is. The one item that I have asked for this year. The "Carolina Bag" from Revolution Disc Golf. It holds between 12-14 discs. It is made from 1000D Cordura and also features two layers of truck vinyl on the bottom. From talking to many other disc golfer on the courses it is really the one bag you will ever need to buy. It is the one thing I have asked for this year cause it does carry one big price tag. Add to that I also want to get the Quad Shocks with the bag. It will be a tough order for Santa to fill this year but I am keeping my fingers crossed.
But in case I haven't been as good of a boy as I think I have this year, I will be happy with any of these items off the Amazon Wishlist. **Please note I have five different wishlists on Amazon**
