Let’s see... Weekend really started on Friday after work for me. Well I guess that is when it starts for most people as well. That night I picked up the wifey and headed up to Harp Irish Pub in East Roswell. We met up with friends Andrew and Emily and enjoyed a few drinks and a reuben. We spent a couple hours there shooting darts, pool, and listening to the singer who sounded alright.
Saturday was an action packed day. That morning we got up early and headed to the TECH game for some tailgating breakfast. I made bacon and eggs on the grill. We also finally broke open the bottle of champagne from when we closed on the house and enjoyed mimosas. It felt pretty pretentious. Gonna go back to just beer for the next tailgating venture.
Saturday night we met up with Andrew and Emily again and went to the Rusted Root concert at Variety Playhouse in L5P. Before the concert we stopped into the Brewhouse and I enjoyed another reuben. The opening band was named ZOX and then were from Rhode Island (they told us so a couple times throughout the concert). Pretty awesome band and I picked up both of their albums at the concert. It was a two for one deal.
Sunday I got to sleep in a little before adult kickball. A few people didn’t show up to play on the team so I ended up playing a few more positions on the field I hadn’t played before. During the second game (we had a doubleheader) I tried to catch a line drive from 3rd base. Well I sprained my right thumb in the process. Sat out a few innings after that due to the inability to grip and intense pain. After the game we all went to Taco Mac to drown out the thought of our back to back losses and I did not get a reuben. I am now a card carrying member of the passport club though.
Monday my hand began to swell up and turn a nice shade of blue around my thumb area. I left work early and got my doctor to x-ray it. It wasn’t broken but it still looks rough. Looks like my kickball season might be over. I just hope I can recover for the fall season disc golf tournaments.
