Your next superhero...

The season finale of Who Wants To Be A Superhero was tonight and your winner is Feedback. Let me first say I am so glad this guy won. At first I didn't like him at the beginning of the season but he began to grow on me. Of course my favorite of the show was Major Victory but I think that was due to the fact was the constant comic relief. The other hero to make it to the final round was Fat Momma. Now let me tell you that I was so glad that she didn't win (and was kind of pissed that she made it as far as she did). Even though she showed the inner qualities of a superhero, she would have made the worst hero ever. I mean a person who eats donuts to get 5 times their normal size. Just a little lame.

Feedback came to the auditions with an entire back story for his character. Comics were a part of his life from childhood and on into adulthood. The season finale itself wasn't as good as I had expected it, but then maybe I just thought it was going to be a landslide win for Feedback and didn't care for it much. Actually it was probably cause I didn't want Fat Momma to win at all that made my expectations lowered. Major Victory versus Feedback would have been a much better final episode.

I also couldn't get over the fact that Stan Lee had so much issue with Major Victory's past as a male stripper. Hey Stan, did you forget that little side project for Pam Anderson called Stripperella? So the man takes off his cape in an episode...that doesn't mean he is going to continue with the whole thing. I still think Major Victory had a chance.

A sticker worth a 1000 words...

Saw this on the back of a F150 on the way home from work. Sometimes a sticker can say just as much as a picture.

Pro Worlds 2006

Well today marks the start of the biggest event in all of disc golf. If you could compare it to another sporting event it would be the Superbowl, the Indy 500, or better yet it would be the Masters. Over 300 disc golfers from all over the world are coming to Augusta this year to compete in the Pro Worlds.

It starts today and ends on Saturday with the top players in each division playing a final 9 holes. There are also side events that happen along with the tournament. Driving contest to find the player with the longest drive. Skill shot contest to show off the most putts in the quickest amount of time. All the big names are all in town for this invitational event to win the big cash prize and the title of world champion.

Stay tuned to the Pro Worlds and Disc Golf TV sites for full coverage.

Weekend Rewind

This weekend went by really quick. Guess I got too use to having three and four day weekends. Friday night Hakeber and I tried out Joe's on Sullivan and were really disappointed with what we found. We have gone to other Metrotainment establishments and have come to expect a certain level of service and food quality when going there. We were waited on my four different people before someone actually took our order. Our food was smaller portion than other restaurants in the chain. I was even charged more for beer. I asked for Joe's House beer ($2) which I though would be PBR and got a Miller High Life instead ($3.75). So much drama I know.

Saturday was spent at the disc golf course. This time I wasn't playing but actually taking pictures. This weekend was Hotlanta the first A-Tier level event in Georgia. So I went to the two different courses that were hosting the tournament and took some pictures. Well more like 285 pictures. You can check them all out here or just check out the highlights here. Yeah, I created a group for the ADGO. I also got to meet the current webmaster of the discgolfatlanta.com and found out I was going to taking over the reigns so to speak as webmaster. Look for some changes in about a year.

I woke up Sunday and my legs felt a little sore. I guess it was all the walking and crouching I did while taking pictures the day before. Hakeber and I tried to make a quick stop into IKEA but forgot that it was tax-free weekend and it was of course packed. After that we headed to Shady Valley park for our first kickball game of the season. It was hot as hell and my legs were feeling a little more sore. We got our asses handed to us by the other team that even borrow some of our players cause they were short. I think for the next game we need to come up with a better strategy. It would be nice to win a game.

May I call you Bob?

So last night I went to the Shakespeare Tavern to see The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged). It had been a year or so since Hakeber and I had gone and we wanted to go to the Tavern again. We actually both saw this production way back in the day while on a trip to London. Yeah we are world traveled like that.

Lori and her boy came along and we had a great time. If you ever have a chance to check this play out you really should. Even if you have little knowledge of Shakespeare’s plays you will still have a good time. All acts are performed by only three actors (even Romeo & Juliet) and it is done very comedically. They rap to Othello, combine 16 comedies into one condensed version, and a little bit of audience participation.

All in all is a great show and it was fun to go out with friends in the middle of the week for something such as this. Next time I just need to see if I can drag a few more along.
