Got the rings, now for the booze...

Things are beginning to come together for the wedding. Of course everyday we come closer to the date I can only think about the honeymoon more and more. Hakeber and I went to pick out our rings today and I found one that I liked. Still have a few things to finalize but nothing really huge. All we can hope for now is smooth sailing from here until the big day. Of course we still need to get the booze in order for the wedding. That is very important. Very important.

Summer Soldier and the Sunday Blogger

So the truck has been totalled. Or will be. Still haven't sent in the title to the insurance company til I find out how much I will be getting back for the settlement. Fun stuff I know. So much stuff has been going on that I haven't been in touch with the internet or much email for that matter. So let's catch up.

This past Friday night I went to the Bachelor party for Clay the best man in my wedding. Yes...the best man in my wedding is getting married before me...crazy huh? Anyways the party started at the Atlanta Dragway up in Commerce. He has a 1981 Chevy Scottsdale that he has dropped a big engine in and other mods as well. So we watched him do about four runs in the quarter and we headed down to the Waffle House in Dacula. We stay there for a good couple of hours waiting for another person to show up and watching all the high-schoolers that showed up. There was almost a fight between some rednecks and a group of black kids in prom gear. There was also a couple of burnouts in the parking lot. Then some guy in a 5.0 Mustang asked Tommy (one of my and Clay's groomsmen) to race his 350Z against him. We knew the kid in the Mustang was running something fast cause he wouldn't have challenged if he didn't think he could win. After that we went over the 24 hour Super Wal-mart and goofed around. I didn't get home til after 4am. Lets just say it was a wild redneck ride with those guys. And strangely enough no drink was involved.

Saturday was truck shopping day. I went around to a few dealerships just getting contacts. Walk in and see if they could get the truck I wanted. I wanted a Yellow or Sunburst Orange Colorado. I really didn't care about getting another Xtreme edition again. Since most production on the 2006 models have ended and the new models will be release in September, it was slim pickings. But I found a dealership in Stone Mountain that had five yellow Colorados. So I knew that was going to be where I was going to strike first. I went back (with my dad) and the original salesman I talked to wasn't there which was a good thing (didn't really like him anyway). So we went into negotiations. Now I brought my dad along cause he loves this stuff. We sent the salesman back to the sales manager probably around 6 times before we walked. That's right we walked cause my dad knew the guy would call with another offer after we left. He did. But my dad still thinks he can go lower so said he was going to work on it. I am hoping by Monday I will be in a new truck.

Today is the wedding shower put on by Dave and Lisa. I know I will be having a good time there. Maybe I will actually get to drink a little. Missing the blogger meetup means I didn't get my monthly mass consumption of alcohol like usual.

A Head Cold And Bad News Make For A Horrible Day

So I got myself a head cold it seems. It will probably take me a couple weeks to get rid of this dang thing. When illness strikes me it is rare but it is also hard when it does strike. I usually only get sick about once every couple of years. In any event I am overdosing on meds and Flintstone vitamins until I am in the clear.

The other part to the day I got bad news from my insurance company. Seems that after they got the vehicle up in the air that much more damage than I thought had occurred. The accident actually bent the frame so you guess it...they are going to total the vehicle. So that means I am unfortunately in the market for a new/used car. As of right now I am going to be fighting the insurance company to get the most value from the car before it is scrapped.

Just more things to pile on top of everything else that is going on in my life.
