How much crap do we have anyway?

Well moving continues on despite not having my truck. I got a Ford Exploder from the rental company on Monday and I have been moving crap in that the whole time. I am sure that we will be moved out in time to clean up the apartment a little. I, of course, just really want to be done with the whole thing. Then we get to look forward to unpacking next week, wheeee!

Went to see Joe Satriani (with Eric Johnson) the other night at the Variety Playhouse. Let's just say that he rocked the freaking house down. The guy is just crazy insane with the guitar. If you have never heard the guy then I guess you have never been truly rocked. The picture is Joe and his new bassist. I heard that the new bassist use to play with Van Morrison as well. The dude looked like he was from an 80's time capsule and he rocked out like it as well. He totally had the motions you find in a Van Halen or KISS video from back in the day. Don't forget a small fan to blow his hair back right next to his pedals. He might not have fitted into the bandreally well, but he sure rocked out like no other. The only downer to the evening was that my buddy who invited me to the concert lost his wallet.

GAC 2006

Well Get A Clue was this Saturday and our team rocked the house. We are still waiting on official results but it looks like we came in second. Second place are the real winners cause the first place team has to plan it for next year. It was fun game overall and it was great to once again hang out with the guys. I didn't take many pictures (well good ones that is) but check them out anyways.

Wreck #2

Well I just experienced the second wreck of my life in a vehicle I was driving. And of course I was doing the same thing as before...making a left turn. I was turning off Peachtee to pick up dinner. A car came flying over the hill and slammed into the right side of the bed. I spun around and the left wheel struck the curb and popped off. Right side is all body damage with the bed shifted slightly. Damage on the left side was the wheel and brakes. I stood in the pouring rain for the police and tow truck to arive.

Oh wait...the best part. It was a hit a run. My guess the other guy didn't have insurance so he just kept rolling. I hope this doesn't end up costing me too much. Time to take some pain killer and go to bed.

Weekend Warriorhood

Thought I would take a quick second to reflect on this past week and really the weekend. I realized today that I have become a weekend warrior it seems. Of course having a job now that gives me the weekends off is a blessing in itself but now that means I put things off to the weekend to accomplish.

It started Friday night. Hakeber and I raced down to Sears at Southlake (cause I have a Sears Card) and looked at buying a washer and dryer from them. We picked out a set and started the paperwork. Long story short we didn't get it cause they wouldn't increase my limit enough to the buy the units. Having a balance on there from when I bought some friends a wedding present didn't help. So I turned my nose up to the situation and said a big fuck you to Sears. We went to the house and took so more measurements and then headed over to Corner Tavern to finish out the evening.

Saturday the kitty alarm clock went off just before 10am so I got up and forced Hakeber to do the same. I called flooring places, utilities, and home security peoples while Hakeber took her shower (she takes long showers). Once she was ready we were our the door to Roswell to schedule an appointment and take a look at the showroom of the flooring company, and then it was off to Lowe's for a second try at the whole washer/dryer buying process. This time much easier, got a set much cheaper, and even got a new card from them with the same amount I needed at Sears. Once again, fuck you Sears. I took some boxes down to the house and cleaned up the yard a bit. Got a call from FoxyD and Jamie and we hooked up for bowling later that evening with Ming.

The first part of this Easter Sunday was spent at Redan Park playing P-nut doubles. Raced back to the apartment and headed over to rent's house for an early dinner/late lunch. Watched Curse of the Were-Rabbit and then we headed back to the apartment. Now we have turned into packing fiends. Hakeber is doing laundry and cooking dinner and I am boxing up everything that is not nailed down. Two weeks to move is now starting to seem like a really short amount of time.

Closing Time

Well today is the day Hakeber and I are going to close on the house we have been looking at for what seems like forever. It does seem strange to think that in less than eight hours we will officially become homeowners. Of course this also marks the point in which we have to move all the crap we will have out of the apartment and over to the new house by the end of the month. Look out East Point...here comes the crazy blogging couple from Buckhead.

Save The Music

So this recently came across the band header and I thought I would pass on the info. Fulton County is looking to discontinue the music programs in elementary schools. SaveOurKidsMusic.org has a petition you can sign and info on who to contact in the Fulton County School System. At least sign the petition.

It has begun...

Driving home from work I noticed a billboard for a new gin on Peachtree Street. Now of course I can't remember the actual name of the gin itself but I quickly recognized the font they used for the name. It was Copperplate Gothic Bold. Now isn't that just sad. I can remember the font but not the name of the gin. I feel this is only going to get worse as time progresses.

Guilty Pleasure

I have a confession...

I love to wash cars. I love to wash my Xtreme, Hakeber's car, and help out anyone who wants theirs washed as well. It is something I learned from my dad I believe. Every weekend while I grew up we were out in the driveway washing and waxing all the cars. I learned all my techniques from him. I would like to think I can keep the outside appearance of a car looking pretty good for a long time. My previous truck (an 87 Chevy S10) still had most of the original paint on it. We got the hood and roof repainted only when I added a cover on the bed so it would look identical.

In fact just this morning I helped Token wash his new Mini before going out today. It was slightly raining but I didn't care one bit. So for those who know me IRL you are hereby invited to the new house (once we move in and get settled) anytime to wash your car/truck/van/suv/whatever. I am serious too.
