Honda Battle of the Bands

Jackson State UniversitySo like Hakeber said yesterday, we went to the Honda Battle of the Bands at the Georgia Dome. I had a blast. Hakeber was feeling a little under the weather (and still does today) and wasn't feelin' it as much as me. We went with my old host and his girlfriend who called me up randomly about a couple weeks ago asking if we wanted to go. I have gone in years past with a large group of GT band folk but haven't in the past year or so. We sat in the nose bleed seats and still had a good view. I took pictures of all the bands. I do think I am in the market for a new camera though. Maybe I will save up some money for a digital SLR. In any case, check out the whole set.

Weird x 5

Hakeber tagged me, so...

The Game: The first player of this game starts with the topic “five weird habits of yourself,” and people who get tagged need to write an entry about their five weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next five people to be tagged and link to their web journals. Don’t forget to leave a comment in their blog or journal that says “You have been tagged” (assuming they take comments) and tell them to read yours.

1. Mac and Cheese always taste better with applesauce on them.

2. My second and third toes are longer than my Big toe on both feet. This makes shoe buying fun.

3. I understand and enjoy statistics.

4. In college I was part of a band sorority and I actually liked being called a sister.

5. It takes me forever to heal. If I get a small cut or bug bite it might be months before it disappears. If I have major cut it will eventually heal as hypoplastic scar tissue. So please be gentle...

Out of ideas yet?

Take Resident Evil, add some Aeon Flux, and a hint of Kill Bill and what do you get? Good job Hollywood...I'll buy that for a dollar.

Last.fm

So after reading Grabbingsand's post about Last.fm I decided to sign up. Thought it was kind of a cool concept so I got my free account. All my songs are through iTunes so I downloaded iScrobber which attaches itself to iTunes and sends all the relevant information to Last.fm.

Initially I thought this was kind of useless because I also use a program called XHTML Playlist Converter. And I could easily put up my Top 25 Most Played anytime I wanted...like this. And anyways the idea of actually converting everything over to pdf files like Maigh would be a little much even for me. But the fact that Last.fm tracks weekly trends kind of turned me on to it. Cause Fall Out Boy will always be at the top of the iTunes list because I listen to that album like 15 times over. "The best part of believe is the lie..."

The job search continues

It is amazing how depressed I am getting lately over this whole job situation. Every time I get online to search for another job it really starts to get me down. Now don't get worried people cause I am usually a really positive person. If you know me IRL then you might usually find me smiling and cutting a few jokes on the fly (especially after a few cocktails). I am just saying that after a couple hours online looking for jobs I usually am not smiling anymore. Such is the case right now.

Oh I can find jobs for other people. That is not a problem at all it seems. I look through all the postings and I see one that reminds me of someone that is stuck in a job they dislike. So I forward it along and continue my search. I think to myself that it might be cool to work for Turner. So I look at their site for jobs involving research analysis or even community relations. I find that all they need are producers and secretaries. Oh by the way if you are bilingual in both Portuguese and English, you might have a job as a writer/producer for [adult swim].

Now I do know that to get a job nowadays it is not what you know but who you know. The unfortunate thing is that I have already tapped out my sources with my parents and I really don't want to go back to the type of work I was doing before (even though it would be easy). So I am gonna throw this out there for everyone. Anybody got any job openings where they work? I really could care less what it is at this point. All I need is a steady paycheck. I believe it is only a matter of time before I make my entrance into porn.

Bowl of dead mice

Wanted to take a moment to share one of the many videos that I thought (and still think) was hilarious back in college. Enjoy...

Will it ever end?

Switched from Berkley DB to MySQL this morning. Lost everything is the process. So if you commented on yesterday's entry I lost that. Silly me not backing up before switching.

Kitty Yoga never looked so good

I am back! Did you miss me? It has been over a month since I have posted or even had a space on the web. Wrestling with different databases and new servers is a headache I could do without. Now I am trying to gather up the pieces of my website and put them back together. Should only take me a day but hell I told you before that it would only take a week or so to switch hosts and I was way wrong there.

So what have I missed? Fill me in people! Who is married now? Seperated? Passed out drunk? The last one should be me later tonight at Trader Vic's. I have been hanging out with more internet people IRL now and it is great. No more music trivia...moved on to more brain teasing stuff. Man I can't wait for my honeymoon. I am gonna get drunk there too! It is like I am back in college....the later part...when I figured out that alcohol was my friend. Ahhhh...college...

*Sings as he walks away*
Drink Drink Drink Drink,
Drunk Drunk Drunk Drunk,
Drunk last night, drunk the night before,
Gonna get more drunk than I ever have before....
