Cause I am sucker for quizzes

Wash

You are Wash. Not only are you a great pilot, you
are also the joker of the group. Your devotion
to your wife is admirable, though you sometimes
feel insecure. Thank god you shaved off your
moustache.

That is awesome!

Do you like my handbag?

Disc Bag

Nevertheless I glad it is here cause my timbuk2 bag was taking a beating out on the "links" from the terrain and whatnot. It was starting to get some stains (sweat stain mainly) from carrying it everywhere and it is just way too expensive for such outings. Anyways it my mission this week to see if I can sucker in find at least one other person to join our seemingly weekly disc golf excursions. I have a few candidates in my mind as we speak and will probably hit them soon enough. Although I must say that the bag I got was a little smaller than I thought it was going to be and I hope I don't out grow it very soon. Then again maybe it will hinder me from spending any more money of discgolf materials....yeah, right.

I had a great time and now starting to get the mechanics of throwing backhand. Maybe I will be able to win one of these matches

Meet me at the bar in 15 minutes AND SUIT UP!

Of late I have been spending my days disc golfing and my nights watching TV. Sounds like the life right...well the money is beginning to come up short. Guess I better get a job, but with the new season of shows starting it has become difficult to say the least. So let's run down the list...

How I Met Your Mother - Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan...enough said right there. Instant classic in the making and with Bob Saget doing the future voice of the main character, it just works.

numb3rs - I am a geek and I like shows that use mathematics...so what. Anyways it has Mr. Universe in it.

The Office - Alright I missed the premiere but I swear I am gonna TiVo the next episode. Wait, can you use "TiVo" as a verb? I guess I can.

Lost - I admit it...I didn't watch a single episode of the first season and don't really plan to. But I am gonna watch this season that is for sure. I must say it does take a little time to not think of Dominic Monaghan as a hobbit.

Grey's Anatomy - I really just watch this show for one reason...Katherine Heigl...so hot. What? I can't watch a whole series just to see someone in scrubs. To think of it, Sarah Chalke doesn't too bad in scrubs either.

Think the DVD-R is gonna be working overtime this season. Happy first day of fall, y'all. (last time you see that word on my blog)

Burrito Art going to close?

Burrito Art
Originally uploaded by mrpbody33.
Well after a nice day of disc golfing up at Lenora Park which is very close to Snellville, I got a craving for a burrito. Well more specifically some Burrito Art. Answering correctly on the Chipotle question on Metblogs I guess got me in the mood. Now there use to be a Burrito Art on Howell Mill and another off Piedmont next to Buckhead Backlot. But since of those have closed in the past years I had to remember how to get to one near Emory coming from a different direction. Found it in no time and was enjoying my burrito right away with no one in the restaurant. Then I thought it was strange that there not other patrons in there. Another "regular" came and the manager on duty told him after he ordered food that in the next month or so they will be closing and turning into a Italian place. Well chalk another win up for McDonald's corp...they have taken down another perfectly good burrito institution.

The weather was just perfect and their were a lot of other discgolfers out as well. Some of which were a lot better than us but were always friendly. I came in last but it really didn't matter cause the company was a nice. And the celebration lunch at the local mexican restaurant was just icing on the cake. Congrats Drew on your first (and last) win. What do you say about a GTBAA Disc Golf Group?

Deer Lick Park (Day 4)

Deer Lick Park
Originally uploaded by mrpbody33.
Yep, this the fourth course I have been to this week and the fourth disc golf course I have been to in my entire life. I must say that my first week disc golfing has been pretty rewarding. My collection has now grown from 2 discs (a driver and putter) to a total of 6 now. One of which I found while walking around at East Roswell Park. Today was Deer Lick Park and just like the other nine hole course, it wasn't marked well. Hell I couldn't even find hole 6 so I just gave myself par on that one. Plus throwing twice through power lines was kinda creepy on holes 5 and 9. So I shot 3 over par on the course. I thought about doing the course over again to get a full round in, but the thought of not having a 6 hole was stopping me or getting cancer clusters from the power lines. Or maybe it was the fact that Williamson Brothers BBQ was 4 miles down the road with the AYCE $6.99 lunch special. I am sucker for good BBQ.

Beer and Bloggers

So last night I went to the "Atlanta People With Blogs Who Get Together To Drink" meetup of the ATLbloggers that I heard about on Metblogs from Hakeber who didn't want to go when it came time to leave. I had a great time at the Brewhouse with all those crazy people. My only regret was that I didn't get to meet everyone, but those that I did meet I got to know them pretty well. Next time this event comes around I am gonna drag a few more people along and a good camera. So I first met Lori briefly and she was very much the social butterfly. I also got to meet Alex, Aradia, Maigh, Mark, Daniel and a few others that I forget their names (and weblogs). I also got to meet two dogs who graced us with their presence that evening. We were there for like 4 hours and the time flew by for me but not my truck. After paying the bill (which was almost $500 and took about 45 minutes to handle by the server and everyone) I walked back to my truck to find it DOA. I guess I had left my lights on when I was drinking it up. Luckily I was able to flag down Daniel who gave me a jump. Daniel you rock my face off!

Oh yeah there was also a Flickr meetup the same night at another place nearby. I remember someone (who shall remain nameless) talking some smack about how all they do is sit around and talk about their cameras and the lens that go with. Well judging from the photoset...I guess you were right.

Why Kanye West is my new hero (Part 2)

Matter of fact, the exact opposite word of "hip-hop," I think, is "gay." - K. West

That is what Kanye West said during his interview with Sway on MTV and I couldn't believe my ears at first. Then I remember that Kanye is an artist that you have to see the forest from the trees. So I waited patiently as three and half minutes worth of thought provoking commericals went by and came back to the interview. West then described what it was like growing up without a father figure in his life and having his mother at the center of his life. Going to school where he acted like his mother and was called gay. He then reacted to the other extreme and started hanging out with thugs in the school.

It's like I was racing to try to find that constant masculine role model right there, right in front of me. I would use the word "f--" and always look down upon gays. But then my cousin told me that another one of my cousins was gay, and I loved him, he's one of my favorite cousins. And at that point it was kind of like a turning point when I was like, "Yo, this my cousin, I love him and I been discriminating against gays."

Kanye goes on to say that the whole hip-hop industry is set up to discriminate against gay people. He is trying to change the industry and possibly the world. He raised awareness about Sierra Leone first and then took on the president who finally accepted his responsiblty. Just another reason why Kanye West is my new hero.

Deeper cut from Late Registration:
Touch The Sky (w/ Lupe Fiasco) - If only I could have horns play like these everytime I entered a room.

Disc Golf Day 2

So I started disc golfing this past Sunday with Hakeber as my caddie and photographer. She did take some nice action shots I must say. Being it was my first time actually disc golfing I think I did pretty well. Well today was a little better. Went to Redan Park after visiting Sherman at his work and got to play a full 18 holes. Each hole was well marked and there were good directions around to guide you through the course. Although holes 6 and 7 were pretty tough cause there were trees all around. I must say that the final score was pretty nice.

If anyone would like to join me disc golfing you are more than welcome to come along. All you need is at least one regulation disc and some nice walking shoes. And don't feel threatened cause I really suck.

Why Kanye West is my new hero

So if you haven't heard about what was said Kanye West said during the telecast of Concert for Hurricane Relief you have been probably hiding under a virtual rock. Well check out the quick video. (WMV)

"I hate the way they portray us in the media. "If you see a black family it says they are looting if you see a white family it says they are looking for food.

"We already realize a lot of the people that could help are at war now fighting another way and they've given them permission to go down and shoot us."

"George Bush doesn't care about black people."

Finally someone said what people where just thinking. You have to respect that man who doesn't give a rat's ass about what is on the teleprompter and just speaks his mind. The response by NBC? Cut out the K. West spot for west coast time and a response via Access Hollywood. At least Jay-Z is still backing his boy after his comments. You want photo evidence? Photo One with caption, "Two residents wade through chest-deep water after finding bread and soda from a local grocery store". Photo Two with caption, "A young man walks through chest deep flood water after looting a grocery store". White people find food, and black people loot for food. It is sad what happened to NOLA but it is even sadder what it has turned into. Thanks to Crooks and Liars for the video file.

Update: After finding the orginial photos the white people photo was quickly taken down so here is a link to a flickr account with both.

Kanye's new single Gold Digger with Jamie Foxx is the number one download on iTunes...here's your hook up.

Someone say whiskey?

Whiskey FestCheck out my mad photoshop skillz to the left there. No magnet lasso for me...just eraser tool only. So as I wait for the start of the TECH vs. Auburn game, I thought I would tell you where you can find me tomorrow from 4-11pm. Whiskey Fest is a venue where you get to listen to tribute bands and drink whiskey. The drinking whiskey part really interested me honestly. I have heard good things about the Dave Matthews Cover Band, good things. Of course there are like a whole mess of tribute/cover bands for Dave Matthews so I might be thinking of someone else. Figured it was worth a look-see, plus I get to hang out with my roommate from college and his new girlfriend who apparently went to the same high school as me. Small world huh?

Upgrades suck

Movable Type 3.2 Beta Tester

So it looks like Movable Type 3.2 has finally been released. I have just put off upgrading from the beta because I haven't had much time to sit in front of the computer. Plus I figured something would go wrong when I tried and of course it did. Hakeber has been sick the past couple days and now I think she is trying to give it to me. Well back to getting the website back to something like normal.
