Final Exam #1

Well I have my Stats 2 final here in less than 7 hours and I haven't really studied for it. Why am I not worried? Well I will tell you why....

My first grade of the course was the midterm on which I got a 90. My next grade that followed was a homework that I scored a 6/10. I just recently completed another homework assignment for which I haven't gotten a grade for yet. I say completely but in reality I answered all but one of the questions. For our purposes lets just assume I got the same grade on the second homework as I did on the first one.

Using the Adjusted Average from the syllabus we have:
Avg = .40*final + .40*midterm + .20*homework

THis makes my current average an 80 going into the final exam. Which means to get an A in the course I have to score a 105 on the final exam.

Right now I am sure most of you are thinking, "Why the hell are you writing this entry when you should be studying you ass off Barry?!?" Well with the professor being gone for about a month because of personal issues and we being so far behind because of it...it is grounds for appealing the grade. Some of the students before the last class we talking about it. The shocking part of it all is that I am one students in the class who is doing good.

He was as tall as a six-foot-three-inch tree.

I don't know why (maybe cause it is late), but this site of "metaphors" from actual exams just made me crack up.

Selected Favorites:
Her eyes were like two brown circles with big black dots in the centre.

Her artistic sense was exquisitely refined, like someone who can tell butter from "I Can'tBelieve It's Not Butter."

She had a deep, throaty, genuine laugh, like that sound a dog makes just before it throws up.

The young fighter had a hungry look, the kind you get from not eating for a while.

Stats Time!

Procrastinated on doing Stats homework last night so that means I have about 3 hours to complete it now. Thanks to a Italian meal and Francis Coppola Black Label Claret, I was knocked out cold at midnight last night. All of the diamond series from that winery just rules. Woke up with a little headache but that was due to spending the night on the couch. Now I got to buckle down and finish what needs to be done. Everything is coming to a close this semester. I am already getting job offers from inside the company for higher positions. The real question is whether I want to take them or try to get into teaching. Too many decisions to be made. So what did you do on your Earth Day? (yeah, the link really has nothing to do with Earth Day)

4/20 already

It has become amazing how much time school and work have taken much of my time. Taking this weekend off to play Get-a-Clue was fun but has set me back even further. But enough about school and work...life needs to be more exciting in the first place.

My new phone rocks! I am even thinking about using the Get it Now service to download some ringtones and games. I really don't need them but it would be nice to have them. The problem is right now that I can't seem to connect to download anything. I hope this isn't a sign that the service will suck.

My nose is driving me nuts thanks to the hella high pollen count. This is always a rough season for me. I washed my truck today before lunch to get all the pollen off. A few more days and I am sure someone would have written "wash me" on it. There is nothing worse than have phat chrome rims that are dirty all the time. On wait...maybe millions of Cicadas would be. That is right...onyl every 17 years. The crazy part is that I can remember when they occurred last time. All I can say is to rememeber to shut your windows and doors quickly.

Remember Me?

I have been kinda lost for almost week I guess. Too much work and school. Today is Get-a-Clue and that means I will be riding around the metro area with 6 other guys in a 2004 Dodge Durango. Needless to say that we will not be the most confortable. I was hoping that the rental place would have given me somthing bigger, but probably cause I am not 25 yet...insurance reasons they wouldn't do it. Everything changes after 25 I guess.

Earlier in the week we have a surprise birthday party for one of my friends who was turing 25 ironically. Enjoy those lower insurance rates buddy. I got him a full body massage at Spa Sydell. Not sure if he will actually use it or not. It is my hope that he will end up taking his girlfriend, Lisa, along and pay for her day at the spa as well (wink wink, nudge nudge).

And special congrats has to go out to me for doing my own taxes this year. Well actually both myself and my dad did them and then we compared. I had one error that cost me some money and we fixed that. They were e-filed on Sunday night. It felt good to get them somewhat early.

I want to see Hellboy but it doesn't look I will until next weekend.
