I am back

I got back from Tulsa on Sunday night night but I tell you I never thought I would get out of that place. My flight was suppose to leave around 1:15pm but didn't happen. The plane was almost packed and then the pilot told us that we needed to de-plane because gyroscopic compass was malfunctioning and then needed to work on the plane (it was somthing like that). So I waited in the airport of 6 hours before they finally got the damn thing fixed. That made me glad to have yesterday off from work. It wouldn't have been so bad if I was in some other airport. I mean it is Tulsa....even people watching sucked there.

Well, I have been accepted to graduate school at GSU. I thought this day would never come. Hakeber has been accepted for like the past month. I am just glad to finally be accepted. Of course I wasn't accepted by the chick who maintains Atlanta Blogs denied me entrance to the Web-ring. They got me on that pesky little rule about offensive material. Well I guess free speech escapes some people. Well I gotta go to work now...catch you cats lata.

Music is my Aeroplane

Well, I am living the city for a couple days and headed out west. Looks out Dallas Pimps I am headed toward Tulsa, Oklahoma. Okay....I know that is no where near Dallas but I had to fit a plug in there somewhere. Anyways, I will be out of town until Sunday. In the mean time I guess check out my girlfriend's site to find what she is doing. And to copy her (and almost every other blogger out there) here is my Friday Five!

1. How long have you had a weblog?I have been doing thing since June 2001.

2.What was your first post about? My first post just basically introduced myself to the world and exlained a little about where I got the name for this site. I had an old name in high school as Mr. P'body and then I got AIM and ICQ names that were mrpbody33....so I just decided to go with that.

3. How many changes (name, location, etc.) of your weblog have there been, if more than one?In the beginning, my site ran off of the student pages for like the first month and then I noticed I was running out of space. So I moved everything over to my friend's server, Intwa.net and it has been there ever since.

4. What CMS (content management system) do you use?I don't. This is pure HTML you are looking at baby. I do use CoffeeCup as my HTML Editor, but that just make the job go quicker.

5. Do you read people who have both a journal and a weblog?Well since I only know a handful of people who actually do that, I do tend to read both.

A much better day

So I had a much better day today. I came home from the job just before it starts to rain so the truck doesn't get wet. I turn on the Weather Channel on the TV to see what is going on and what do I hear. The Local Forecast is playing Phish's "The Divided Sky". That right there just made me want to switch jobs and work for them. Any place that programs Phish as background music is cool with me.

I need to redesign this site a little bit. I want to get a comment thing like my girlfriend has on her site. Also I don't think that whole Blogchalk is ever going to work. Maybe my website is just not that accessible as others might be. Although I am glad I do have a PC and not a Macintosh cause I think I just might shoot myself then. Tell me one thing...how many more Mac videos are there? So I think I am gonna take a few things down and do some stuff to the site. In the mean time....keep emailing this guy (jsymbas@emory.edu) birds. *see previous post for the explanation*

I need a beer...

Last week I screwed up on a customer at work. I put the tires that the manufacturer suggests to put on instead of what the customer asked for. In fact the size that was on the car was wearing down fast because they were rubbing on the inside. But the guy wanted the size from before and I ordered the tires for him. Now today when the tires finally come in he comes in to exchange them. Mind you that the guy is riding around tires he doesn't want and we are just gonna throw away when he come back. After we finally get the tires put on, this guy proceeds to talk down to me and my manager about how he has been inconvenienced by our mistake. He then reminds us that he is a med-student at Emory and demands a 30% reduction off the previous bill. The dude is already getting money back for the difference and we were gonna give me like $50 back (out of my pay check). Finally I just gave up and let the guy have about $170 back. What I really wanted to do was to take him out back and beat the living crap out him and get him to understand that even if he is a med-student that doesn't exactly make him any better of a person than I or any other person there. Those people need to put in there place and I hope karma serves him well. So if you want to do be big favor.....please send a bird to this guy at jsymbas@emory.edu (that is his email address).

Enough of the rant....on to more pleasant things. I had a pretty relaxing weekend....which is what I needed. This next weekend I am flying out to Tulsa. That is gonna be a lot of fun. I am counting the days to the weekend already...I guess that is kinda bad. Be back tomorrow with more....I am just too pissed off to write anything worthwhile right now.

Conan, what is best in life?

For me there are three things in the life I that live for. They are loud music, fast cars, and faster women. No really...that is the truth. There is nothing I enjoy more then screaming down deserted streets with the music blasting. Just one of the the many reasons I love the country I live in. Hell....you can do anything in the country if you put your mind to it. And for some fast women out there, that includes turning yourself into a high society escort. Yeah, in my search for local webrings I found a few dedicated to the art of escorting. The first one I stumbled upon was for a headless escort. Wanting to stay away from the true freaks I headed over to Atlanta Web Girls thinking I might find some local cam girls....well I was wrong. I then ventured over to Eros of Atlanta. I must say I was surprised about the number of escorts in the area. Then I found out this the same for the rest of the country! I love America!

waiting for this blogchalk thing to do its thing....

I mean really...this thing worked for people like the guy over at Grabbing Sand. Why can't it work for me. I guess the search engine has a lot of pages to go through before they get to mine again. Owel, maybe I will just enlist in TIPS. That would give me something to do while I am off work and staring at all the Uhaul trucks in the neighborhood. The whole Weblog community is getting stranger as each and every day goes by. For those who don't have a computer but still want to know how to blog, here is the book for you. How about a plugin for you Winamp that allows you to update a list of playlist songs on your site in real time. Hmmmm....check out those Yahotties! I got my first shipment of DVDs from Amazon.com So today I watched Tron and later I am gonna force Hakeber to watch Little Shop of Horrors.

...still dazed and confused

So after much explaining and some diagrams on a dry-erase board, I finally figured out the benefit to this whole Blogchalking thing. First, I just thought it was another one of those web-rings that is suppose to send you copious amounts of traffic at the same time as creating a group of people in which you could become accepted. So at some point in my blog I need to put, blogchalk: Barry/Male/21-25. Lives in United States/Atlanta/Buckhead and speaks English. Google! DayPop! This is my blogchalk: English, United States, Atlanta, Buckhead, Barry, Male, 21-25! Well I guess that covers that. I was going to sign up for another web-ring that my girlfriend is a part of. It is called Atlanta Webloggers and the only thing that is stopping me from joining is their pesky rule about having sites without offensice language or photos. Well I like the freedom of saying whatever I words I want (like shit and fuck) and posting vulgar pictures (like these).

So I am having to work all weekend. In fact I will be working 7 days straight once I get a day off. I hope the money is worth the loss in sleep. In fact, all this loss of sleep has caused me to think I might be turning gay. Naaahhhh!!!! But it does turn out that I am Blossom when I took the Powerpuff Girl Quiz. Things just can't get much stranger. And finally...I am tired of hearing about the damn HIV-positive muppet. Who cares, the dang thing is not even going to be seen in this country and it is gonna be shown in the South African version in which most of the people in South Africa that have HIV won't actually get to see it. How come they haven't been going crazy about how Bert and Ernie are gay?

Andrew W. K. - She

Andrew W. K. - She Is Beautiful
(the following lyrics may contain offensive material)

I never knew Girls existed like you,
But now that I do,
I'd really like to get to know you.

Pre-Chorus
The Girl's too Young,
She don't need any better.
Its all coming back,
Can't you feel it.
The Girl's too Young,
She don't know any better.
Its all coming back,
Can't you feel it.

Chorus
She is Beautiful,
(She is Beautiful). She is Beautiful,
(She is Beautiful).
The Girl is Beautiful.

You're giving me moves and hints from all sides,
And when you hit like that you melt my eyes.

Pre-Chorus
The Girl's too Young,
She don't need any better.
Its all coming back,
Can't you feel it.
The Girl's too Young,
She don't know any better.
Its all coming back,
Can't you feel it.

And though I never know you,
I look at your face.
To tell you that I love you,
Don't know what to say.
I give everything I got to the Beautiful Girl,
The Only Thing I live for in the Whole Wide World.

Chorus
She is Beautiful,
(She is Beautiful).
She is Beautiful,
(She is Beautiful).
The Girl is Beautiful.

I ain't got nothing to lose,
(Nothing to Lose).
I gonna throw it away,
and talk to you.
(She looks Good) She looks Good,
(And it's True) And it's true.
The Girl is Beautiful,
She is Beautiful.
I ain't got nothing to lose,
(Nothing to Lose).
I'm only living one time,
And I want you.
(She looks Good) She looks Good,
(And it's True) And it's true.
The Girl is Beautiful,
She is Beautiful.

Chorus
She is Beautiful,
(She is Beautiful).
Na na na na na na na na
She is Beautiful,
(She is Beautiful).
Na na na na na na na na
The Girl is Beautiful.
She is Beautiful,
(She is Beautiful).
Na na na na na na na na
She is Beautiful,
(She is Beautiful).
Na na na na na na na na

I ain't got nothing to lose,
(Nothing to Lose).
gonna throw it away,
and talk to you.
(She looks Good) She looks Good,
(And it's True) And it's true.
The Girl is Beautiful,
She is Beautiful.
I ain't got nothing to lose,
(Nothing to Lose).
And i'll never forget
When I saw you.
(She looks Good) She looks Good,
(And it's True) And it's true.
The Girl is Beautiful,
She is Beautiful.

One more day til one year older

Over the weekend on Sunday, my parents and my aunt actually came over to give me my first birthday gift. I wasn't really surprised because it was something I requested for my birthday. I got a huge new TV! So they dropped off the new TV on that day. Everyone was out here on that day to set up the new TV. Here is my mom and dad. I am sure they would kill me if they knew there pictures were on the Internet. Here is my cool aunt. Everyone was curious about the webcam....I am not sure they knew what to make of it. Even my dog, Snoop, sat still for a moment to take a picture.

Today was my mom and aunt's birthday (they are twins), so I went home after work and went to dinner with them. After dinner we exchanged gifts (and I even got gifts cause they aren't gonna see me tomorrow). I got a new electric razor (which I needed badly) and then this thing. On top it has some knots in shadow box style with their names on labels. Inside is an open felt-covered space. My mom's reasoning is that I need something to store all my jewelry. All my jewelry includes one class ring and that is all. It is the thought that counts...I guess...

I probably won't update tomorrow (drunken bliss), so in the mean time here is some neat things I found. I have a personalized Southpark character (picture above) and you can create one too! Need to gamble? Want to bet on some races but just can't make it to the track? No problem, just head to the Scrollbar Racing track. Want to transform your mouse into a Cryo-prison? Well then check out this tutorial. Want more Google fun, then send random English and Dutch words to the search engine.

Oh yeah...that is not a dildo in my last cam image!

Party like the Prez

So with only two more days until my B-day, I have updated my Amazon.com Wishlist for those late shoppers out there. I just added a ton of DVDs to the list. Most of them Cult movies. Like I really expect any of you to buy me anything. Hell...there is only gonna be like a small group of people that are gonna recognize the fact I am turning a year older. I am one of those people that doesn't really care to have the big blow-out birthday (but secretively longs for it). It is a kinda sick addiction. So all that I have planned on my big day is to have my best buds come down here and probably go an eat some sushi. Hakeber has to work that night.

You can always find some strange and wacky stuff on the Internet late at night. I mean everyone goes to Google to start their searches but does anyone go to elgooG? Kinda reminded me of retnuH for some reason. I think I am lost, I need to find another map of the Internet. I think it is time for me to build stronger bones, wonder how fast the goat could run, and start to look for cheap land on Mars.

Wild music tastes

I often thought in the past that I had a wide taste in music. I think a lot of it has to do with my up-bringing by my parents. My parents have opposite tastes in music and I could never figure out how they could have survived like that. My parents never went to Woodstock like so many of my other friends parent's. So I was exposed to a lot of different music than most of my friends were exposed to. While I grew up, I listened to a lot of R&B with my Mom, and when I was with my Dad I would listen to a lot of 80s Male singer/songwriter stuff.

So what does this produce in a kid 20 years later? A person that likes everything from Ohio Players to Barry Manilow. But it gets stranger from then. I also like stuff by ICP and Maxwell. In fact I sometimes pride myself on "finding" new and cool bands. What I mean by "finding" is that sometimes I randomly go into a music store, pace the isles for a while, and pick up a CD by a band I have never heard of before. Most of time I will get lucky and have something I like. Of course this has lead me to have a CD collection that is close to 400 strong. Some of which I never would have gotten in the first place.

Now you ask, "Why the hell are you telling me all of this?" Well it should be a testament for all of you go out and support the unheard local band trying to make it big or just have a fun time. I saw John Mayer a couple times before he made it big. Right now a band called Second Shift is turning some heads, and sometimes I perform with a band called Blind Prophet when they need me. So go out, stop listening to all those pop music stations that just recycle the same riffs you have been hearing for the last 30 years, and hear a new, fresh local band! Have a good weekend.

I have to work tomorrow

So I finally figured it out....blue collar work truly sucks ass. I have more respect for most of these people than I ever have before. If you ever walk into a place you think is just trying to overcharge you on anything....just take a minute and look around at the working conditions. These guys are just trying to make an honest buck...at least most of them. The assistant manager is an ass, but everyone else is pretty cool.

So that was the third day of no air conditioning at work. To add more problems to the situation, the massive lightning storm we had in the area knocked out a transistor on the pole that supplies power to our place. The place was without power for 7 hours. We had to turn customers away constantly and of course everyone was wanting new tires. Everyone was sent home early and some were suppose to come in later when the power came back on. Well I came back, the assistant manager, and one technician. We also couldn't log the computers into the network, so we were really hurt for business. We just eventually closed up shop early....and I am sure we will hear about it from customers tomorrow. We really couldn't have done anything to their vehicles anyway.

So working in a raging inferno has left me drained from work almost everyday this week. Although I have managed to stay somewhat connected to the online world. Here is some of the stuff that I have found (by some means or another). Ever make mathematical models using legos or even snow? Well good for you super-geek! The second installment to Lord of the Rings trailer came out, you can check it out here. I learned my lesson last I saw the first movie....no big drink during the three hour long movie. Want to play some Battleship! If you are not good enough you might end up sleeping with the fishes. And go and check out my photographer girlfriend, she is playing SSX Tricky in the living room right now.

What a weekend...damn

Well, I found out that I am gonna get paid at the end of the week on Friday. It will be nice to finally get a pay check once again. I have been unemployed for almost a year now. Of course all my other jobs were just school related research positions (a far cry from selling tires). Although today was a real rough day working. The air conditioner wasn't working so in the morning it was about 83 degrees but by the time I left it was close to passing 90 degree mark. The customers were beginning to complain. I guess they were oblivious to the sweat that was pouring down my face. It is gonna be a humbling experience to do blue collar work, but seriously...it was hot as a motherfucka in there today. I hope they get the air fixed soon.

This weekend I had a load of fun though. My best buds from high school came out last Friday and we had some steaks and beer. I gonna go back to Suburbia on the 4th of July for redneck firework spectacular. Firework shows aren't unless there is that small hint of danger (Roman Candle Fights). Saturday night I went to another crazy band party. Summer somehow allowed people who I normally never see drunk get totally smashed. The whole weekend I chilled with friends and it was pretty relaxing. But on Sunday I went to the Gay Pride Parade with my girlfriend, and several other friends (one of which happens to be gay, duh!). I must say it was a quite a site to see. Some of the Drag Queens were totally crazy looking. It was something I would recommend everyone experiencing once in the lifetime. I will have some content tomorrow, right now I am too tired from work....lata.
