Finals really suck

On a brighter note, I signed the lease for my new apartment today with Hakeber. 12 months....pretty long time. I can't believe my parents even agreed to co-signed with us. I mean back in their day, guys and girls living together was un-heard of and probably forbidden in some states. I am just glad I am not living with my parents over the summer. The only bad thing is that I will have limited Internet access until I get a new computer. Like I am gonna sign up for DSL when I am still using my 266 MHz laptop from when I was a freshman. Connecting the cable modem would probably cause the thing to overload right there on the spot.

Since it is finals week, this has caused a lot of procrastination on my part. This also means that I (or friends) have found a lot wacky stuff on the Internet the pass couple days. From Kubrick to Rubik

If you can't guess already, I got a Rubik's Cube and I put the damn thing down. I have solved it a couple times, but I think those just have been flukes. In any event, I think Hakeber is getting made at me, cause I definitely am paying less attention to her because of the damn cube. Air Heads are good, but they really eat up your digestive system if you eat a lot of them in a row. Trust me on this one. I don't care what you won it for, do you know what the hell you are kissing looks like? I received the almost semi-annual picture of the potted plants grown by those little grade school children. I swear, I must get that picture almost every couples months. I would like to welcome Erinz to the Dirty South!

The week in review

It is really said when a whole goes by and you can even find the time to think about an update. Countless times I wanted to post an update, but I didn't want to cheat the public with a crappy content post. Hell... what am I kidding myself for...like any of my posts are really content worthy. In any event...I HATE SCHOOL. Well I really hate only of my Profs because he is being a real dick. Telling me stuff like how he is gonna fail me (again) in a class I need to graduate. What a wonderful thing to hang over someone's head as they are about to take finals in the next two weeks. On top of all that this Prof told me that he wanted to tell me to quit college 3 years ago. That explains all the C's I have always gotten in everyone of his courses. It is not like I am poor student, I have a freaking 3.02 GPA at one of the most competitive engineering schools in the dirty south, let alone the country. Needless to say he won't be getting a good grade his course critque. Everyone I believe has an arch-enemy in this world. For some people, this arch-enemy is a person, for others it is a concept or ideology. In any event, everyone has someone or something on this planet that acts in complete opposition to the other. I believe I have found mine in this professor and it really pushes me to go "highlander" on his ass! Despite all this shit with my Prof and all the crap I had due this week, I was able to make some new friends during the week. If you haven't heard Party Radio you are really missing out. The DJ that sometimes does live broadcast is one crazy-ass mofo.

I got an email from another DJ during the week about Artificial Intelligence (Kubrick edit). Now I am huge Kubrick fan and of course was more than disappointed by the crappy job Spielberg did with the film after Kubrick's death. However, I must say that it requires more that just the deletion of "lite" scenes to make a true Kubrick version. Kubrick is much deeper than just having "dark" scenes. He character development style to totally different as well as his characters have much more internal conflicts. Even though in the article it contends that Kubrick had an ending similar to the one actually in the movie (minus the aliens by Spielberg), I would contend that Kubrick would have eventually decided to end his film at the point where David meets the Blue Fairy and watches her for eternity. No resolution is the beautiful Kubrick ending to any movie. Well enough with my theories on Kubrick.

Everyone should go out and enjoy the weekend! I know I will spend the whole thing mainly indoors working on shit for the next couple weeks of class. Arrrr....BOOTY!

Yesterday, I spent all day in a van traveling all over Metro Atlanta. I participated in the annual Get-A-Clue presented by members of the GT Band. GAC is a scavenger hunt that takes teams of 4 or more all over the city looking for clues and then eventually ends sometime before the sun rises the next day. Well the good teams can finish in about 9 hours, all the others kinda give up when they see daylight. My team this year was named "Second to Last" and consisted of myself, Michael, Lindsay, Adam, and our token Asian, Epstein. We all had a hell of a good time and finished in about 10 hours. We placed 7th overall. Now I have to settle down and focus on graduating. All I have between here and the end of the term are papers and finals. Not exactly what I had pictured for my graduating term. I have always wondered what other people have accomplished at my age. Makes me feel like this whole college education things isn't what is cracked up to be. Google search engine on your AIM list. They also have it for MSN messenger, check it out here. Procrastination, makes it happen!

I have been procrastinating like a there was no tomorrow. What is my poison this time you ask? Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I must play that game like 3+ hours a day....I am seriously an addict. I am getting tired of Litestep. It is a great Windows shell and it allows me to do a lot more than the default shell, but it is becoming harder to find themes that will run in my litestep distro. This is part thanks to the website going down and coming back with only a few things. Thanks to Hunter for plugging me in his last update. Will internet advertising ever stop? In a partial roof collapse, 37 record-store clerks are feared dead. It is always rough when news hits so close to home. I am Paddington Bear, what story book character are you? I know a lot of people at my school are always Stalking William Shatner. This could be possible, but I think it is a grim look into the future. Have you ever wondered what happens when office supplies attack! This is just one crazy banana! Alright....I think that is way enough for now. A day of mixed emotions

This has truly been a day of ups and downs. Let's start on a high note first. Last night I saw Tenacious D with special guest Greasepaint. If you can't figure out by the name, Greasepaint is a band comprised mainly of clowns and carnival folk. They were interesting to say the least. Clowns playing the blues....and that is all you need to know about them. The D came on after and set to rock our freaking socks off! They played a shit load of songs (some from the new album) and they had some movie skits as well. All in all, it was a real entertaining evening. That was all last night of course. Today (on a sadder note) I was denied acceptance into graduate school. Really kinda blows your whole day, and the rest of your life on top of that. No matter, I might just have to reapply again in a year. I blame it on the economy.

On a much better note, Hakeber and I have now been going out for 2 years as of today. It is our anniversary. We are gonna go and celebrate by going to Sonic. I know... we live a sad, sad life. I am just looking forward to living with her in the summer. In any event...

Merry April Fool's Day!

Well it is that famous day know as April Fool's where stupid people try and trick other stupid people into believing something. Hard to believe it is not national holiday isn't it. Here is what my school did in celebration of this day. Other years that produced better things. The school has created a "virus" on the website that made it all scrambled. Another year they created an alternate version through the routers to the rival school's site. That was actually humorous, but how's does one know they have gone too far? The Canadian Dollar fell in worth a little today. Today I am going to see Tenacious D at the Tabernacle here in the ATL. However it would just be in the style so stage a fake show, have a couple tall skinny guys try and play some of songs, and then come on after a while. There is a lot of crazy shit going on in the world today...we need a little humor.
